Soccer - 2nd season

Team: Philadelphia
Color: Yellow jersey
Coach/ Asst: March P and Daddy!

This is just for me to look back on because it's a bunch of kids playing soccer, picture after picture!
Here is Coach P and Asst Coach Daddy warming the kids up.
My boy in the yellow to start the game...

His Daddy (and some me) have told him to just get in there and be aggressive.  He would always run up and stop or run up then back up or run up, kick it and spring like a rabbit with nervous energy!
Not last Saturday, I tell you!
He was on it every chance he got.  I was a cheering, photo taking mama bear!

Dominic ready to toss in....

My bubby finished hard including a smack in the face with the ball but he went right back in, tears and all. I was so torn but hubs was like it makes him tough......I get that but he came from my loins, he is my baby, EVERYBODY BACK UP.
End of a good game, perfect weather too!

Post game pep talk!  Dominic is having so much fun playing soccer and we are loving it too!

V-day Decor 2013 - Better late than never!

I was not sure I would get this post up.  Life is just too busy! I took the photos then took down all the decor and packed it up!  Valentine Decor 2012 and the sparse 2011!

This wooden heart shaped wreath with little petals came from CVS last year and it is by far my favorite decoration.
Had to make some changes this year since there is no mantle.  I love the white square frame with the heart enclosure.  It was actually a photo I had on a table at our wedding.  It's perfect for V-day too.
I have lots of these little wooden signs from either Hobby Lobby (50% off) or Walgreens, etc.

I had a very small window, like maybe an hour or so one day to get the Valentine decor out so I did not take photos along the way if I adjusted something.  These hearts were purchased at the Dollar Tree last year and I never did anything with them.  They are red so I cut out small pieces of pink tissue and hot glued it all around the hearts to give contrast and nailed them up above the widow.  The right one is a little crooked but oh well!
We made the small red tissue heart below and the pink one on the next photo, last year as a project. They held up being stored.
Free printable in the black frame here from last year.
This was another easy improvement.  I had the brown wreath just sitting around and I found the heart circle wreath in the $1 section at Target and I just hot glued it on top and it came out so cute!
Way better than just one skinny wreath!
I thought I was clever with these foam stickies.
It was cute while it lasted but when I removed them then used goo-gone to get the sticky off, it also took off the clay color of the pot so now it has two big spots, ha! I will turn the brown ribbon around and put the speckled side to the back of something when we move one day. Way to go, huh?! NOT.
 Last years V-day picks...
And I never blogged about this little cutie I found at Goodwill for like $2, I love it!
Small display on my small counter in my small kitchen!

I had to make my baby something special and he loved it. I traced and cut out 7 hearts on pink and red construction paper then glued them to this pink ribbon and stuck the letter of his name on each one.         Cost = $0, I had everything!
 Small vignette on sofa table.
I know the picture is blurry but this is bubby in his pj's on his rocking horse with my zebra cowboy hat.  He was about 1yr old and it's in a V-day frame too! This was in his bathroom.
All his smell pretties were on a heart ceramic tray

Another free printable I did linked here on his bathroom counter.
2 heart picks in a faux plant on our bathroom counter and that's it!

Weekend in Kerrville & D's fondue 7th

Last weekend we headed to Kerrville and brought some of our good friends with us.  Our old neighbors, the Allsops, joined us on the trip.  They know my in laws plenty well but it's been a while since they were in Kerrville.
We got there Friday around 11am then headed out for lunch around noon.  Great photo op with everyone and my FIL's new canary yellow Velostar!
Our first try at lunch, Camp Verde, was booked and there was an hour wait!  Doesn't anybody in this town work?!?  ha!  We had to try another place, Comanche Trace at the top of a hill.  It's a beautiful golf club and they have a restaurant/ bar at the top.
Dominic had Aunt Bru and MeMe sit down on each side of him so they could watch him play soccer on his DS.
Friday evening Uncle Eric fried up his famous chicken wings using the Nanny Moe's spice Aunt Bru created.  Keep a look out for this spice, it's delish!
Me and my baby.  Someone else actually got behind the camera!
Saturday was a bit cold and rainy so we got out for a little bit before returning home.  We decided when we were back in Houston that we would have a little surprise fondue birthday dinner for Dominic. He did not like any birthday ideas I presented him with this year and since we are in the apartment we can't have a big party so he said just doing something fun with mommy and daddy would be fine.  That is still to come as we get closer to his birthday in a few weeks....
His Daddy took him outside to play some soccer so we could quickly set up the table, put out a birthday banner and a balloon.
Surprise!  He was like, "YES! Fondue!"  He loves fondue and he took the surprise really well!
I tried something different this time and sauteed mushrooms, onions, garlic and carrots before tossing into the wine/ broth mix for fondue. We used to use oil but have tried healthier approaches.

After dinner we had another surprise, a soccer cake!  My in laws ordered it and picked it up that day while we were running around in our car.  My MIL's birthday was the 5th so we added a butterfly and I tried to write "and MeMe" in white icing so we surprised her too!
MeMe and my not so little guy, Dominic.  Happy 7th sweet boy.
Uncle Eric and Aunt Bru got him a portable soccer goal!
MeMe and Papa got him cash and some shirts!
And Daddy and I got him opening day Dynamo tickets for starters!
