Ito's 90th!

Two weekends ago we celebrated Abeulito's (Ito) 90th birthday!  We were under the impression that last year was the 90th but he told us no......at the party!

Here is sweet cousin Cole who would not smile for me because I was begging, little stinker!

And precious baby Gage with his first taste of the trampouline, I believe.....

Here are all 4 cousins: Dominic, Gage, Cole and sweet princess Morgan.

Baby Gage with his Great Grandfather, how awesome is that?!

Looking, searching....

Here we are singing Happy Birthday to him and Sasha has a candle for him to blow out....

Happy Birthday Abuelito, here's to another year of life, love and laughter.

The family......Generations come and grow.  Thanks to Sasha and David for hosting everyone.

Impromptu photos at Rice University!

Last weekend was a BEAUTIFUL weekend here in Houston so we headed to the big park for a Sunday Family fun day.  At the last minute I told K to turn into Rice University so I could take some photos of D.  I had my bridal portraits done here and the campus is beautiful.  I am also searching for a photogenic background for some family photos coming up sooner than later.  Plus I love my Canon so I knew I could capture something.  Based on his attire, this was not planned.....the proof is in the pudding.
We started with some, "Oh mom, why do I have to...." photos complete with a cheesy grin.

This one says it all.  I had no bribery with me (i.e. candy)

I was begging, I was pleading.....it was getting better.

Um, hello.  Face me puh-lease.....

Just battled a large ant bed and some drama then got this one.

And lastly, this one.  My big, soon to be, 6 yr old!

When he asked us where we were his Daddy replied, "Your future college." Well, let's hope!

Fall Pumpkins & front porch/yard

I have been waiting to purchase pumpkins and mums for the front porch, you know until it gets cooler, fall-weather-ish.  Since I might be waiting approximately FOREVER, I went ahead and bought them.  I always like to give my pumpkins some flare.  A little permanent black marker on this one and we have a polka dot pumpkin!

Up close the polka's might appear mediocre but from the street, the most important part, I see perfection!

I used my M stencil and spray painted this guy.  As you would imagine, it's NOT a flat surface so the paint ran a bit but some nail polish remover and Q-tips fixed that right up. Again, not perfection up close but awesome from afar!

There's my little guy messing with the timer on......

This new addition to the fam....!

Happy Fall you All!

Fall Wreath Re-vamp!

I bought my Fall wreath about 3 yrs ago AFTER the season on tremendous clearance.  I even displayed it on my front door for the next 2 seasons.  Not sure what I was thinking but this poor wreath was begging for a re-vamp this year.

Here is the wreath as is, before I started. Lots of gaps and pockets of space that needed some pizzaz but still enough of a base to really work with and make a difference!

I went to Hob Lob during a 50% off Fall stem week and I purchased the following.  4 stems, 1 white pumpkin (faux), 1 shimmery orange pumpkin (faux) and some Fall colored heavy netted ribbon.

I started by intertwining the big ribbon through out the whole wreath.

Already looking new and improved!

Then I started placing the 4 stems around the wreath.  When I had them where I wanted them I either stuck them into the wreath or cut the long stems with wire cutters and used my glue gun.  I am especially fond of the 2 black and white colored balls I decided to add for a pop of color to all the browns and oranges.  That stem came with 2 balls so I cut them apart to have some black and white on each side of the wreath.

There were already a few pumpkins on the wreath so I added two more to the bottom to clump them together and give you a focal point.

Here is the final product and it's much fuller and vibrant!

With the wide lens it decreases the size of the wreath but it is actually larger than it appears in this photo.  Perfect wreath for a perfect season!
