Memorial Weekend 2011

As I write about our Memorial Weekend I want to first say "Thank You" to all who have served, are serving and will serve in our military forces.  God Bless each and every one of you for giving all of us the freedoms we have in this AWESOME country!

Saturday morning first thing we put up our new American Flag.  Dominic loved helping his Daddy do this of course.
We planned on heading to see Kung Fu Panda 2 on Saturday afternoon.  Low and behold the one time we wanted was sold out when we arrived so we opted to see Rio instead.  It sure was a cute movie and held D's attention longer than any of the other two we have seen in a theatre.  We are taking baby steps, ha!
After dinner we headed to LaHacienda for dinner.  Unfortunately it was not very good at all so that was a bummer.
Sunday we got up and headed to see the Astros at Minute Maid.  This was Dominic's first time to see a real MLB game!  On Sunday's they have Family Fun Day so we headed there a little early to play.

Here we are before leaving our house...the excitement was brewing hence no eye to eye picture of the little dude!

One thing I have to mention that really perturbed me and my husband.  We bought tickets on line with an additional $15 for a "parking" pass.  Let it be known that our lot C was further away than some cheaper lots up close, ugh!  RIPP OFF.

Love this photo of the boys outside Minute Maid.

This picture almost does not look real.  Kinda like those big posters you can stand in front of that make you look like you were there, ha!
The Astros host a childrens fun area in the lobby of Union Station two hours prior to the game.  Huge bounce houses, balloon making clowns, face painting, etc!

We had the cheap seats of course.  Dominic was interested but got restless around the 6th.

We left before it was over but the Astros lost anyway :(

On Monday we ran a few errands, had lunch at Sweet Tomatoes (yum!) and then the rest of the day involved swimming and BBQ'ing!

Hope everyone had a nice and semi restful holiday weekend!

Great title. Great Book.  About 3/4 done. So far, really good!
Best thing?  He loves his wife of 20 years and he is an awesome Dad to his teenage sons. Wow.

Sick Weekend

We were on schedule to have perfect Spring weather here in Houston this past weekend and that we did!
Unknown to us, we were also on schedule to tackle a 24 hr virus with little man! ugh!
Poor baby has gone quite some time without any illnesses so I suppose it was time.
Made for a long Saturday night between me and Daddy tag-teaming to take care of D all night long.  He was showing major improvements by Sunday afternoon but
mama's tummy was "not right".  I have a stronger immune system than he does but I was still not feeling 100% and could not sleep for the second night.
All in all we are all on the up and up and I am thankful it was short lived!

Mother's Day 2011

Mother's Day started a bit early for this Mama!  Thursday at work I got these delivered:

From one sweet husband.....

Of course I brought them home to enjoy them....

They had this sweet note attached from my hubby...

And here is THE reason I am a mama....love this boy!
Few family photos in our back yard before heading to church.
I would not be a mama without either of these boys, ha!

Snapping some photos of D in the courtyard of our church.

After church we headed out to The Woodlands' Market Street and had reservations for lunch at Tommy Bahamas.  Thank goodness we did, it was very crowded!

I did not get any pics of the food, all delicious because our res was for 1:30p so we were starving!

After lunch we wanted to walk around Market Street to see all the shops, etc.  We had not been out there before and the weather was perfect although a little on the warm side!

They have an area where sprinklers come up from the ground and kids can play to their hearts content and get as wet as their parents' will allow!  We did not but I loved the Spring flowers in the back ground of this photo.

Do you recognize this logo?

Cold Stone Creamery!  D had to get some ice cream, of course!
Great ending to a wonderful Mother's Day with my boys.
Kevin and Dominic - I love you both more than you can ever imagine, thank you for a special day!

Easter 2011

We celebrated Easter with Kev's parents this year.  The weather was beautiful and the fun was plentiful!  We left Houston very early on Good Friday (6:30a) to arrive in the Hill Country in time for lunch.

Kevin and his Dad, Papa K, relaxing in the new high top barstool patio set.

Dominic has a stash of toys that stay in Kerrville which is awesome because it's like all new toys when we visit!  He loves his little green motorcycle.

Alway trying to grab my cheaters!!

Dominic will tell you the thing he looks most forward to in Kerrville is Sasha, the dog.  She is super sweet and seems to really tolerate him always all over her.

Saturday we got up and headed to Fredericksburg to eat at Hondo's.  Great little quaint bar/ restaurant with inside and outside seating, yet still small and cozy.

We spotted this little squirrel on our walk over to the restaurant.  He seemed to only stay a few steps ahead of us as opposed to darting up a tree.  He finally found his out and was gone before we knew it!

Thought this was a neat car taking a stroll down Main Street.

Such a happy little boy, always smiling for Mommy's camera, ha!

Easter morning in his Mom's Rock Star p.j.'s 'cause little boy clothes are.......LIMITED.

Starting to scope out the goods from E.B. (Little reference from the movie "Hop")

Shark Tales, new movie for the DVD on the car ride home!

Kevin wanted to have an Easter Egg hunt for D so we put jelly beans and change in about 30 eggs and Kevin hid them in the back yard while D and I stayed inside and read books before he got the okay to come "hunt".

First score - he could not even wait to open it.

Love the action of this picture here, so determined!!

Oh, another one!

Daddy had a ton of places available to hide the eggs and D loved the challenge.

EB brought some awesome tattoo's for D too!
My Easter sweet pea about ready for the Easter dinner company to arrive for dinner.

The feast with the fam!
