February already?

I just can't believe it's already February 1st.  Time is flying by in this new year.  Seems like just yesterday it was May and I was booking our trip to Disney and now it's only TWELVE.DAYS.AWAY!!!!!!

I have been a busy bee getting our clothes together, making some Mickey shirts as well as ordering some shirts off Etsy for Dominic.  I will get some photos of all of them soon and post but for now there are a few V-Day decorations about the house.  Really, just a few!

My car thermometer read 78 degrees on my way home today.  By Friday they are saying possible snow flurries......yes, in Houston Texas!

Necktie Day, Harley's vs Huffy Rock-it!

Last week Daddy was out of town and D had "Wear a Necktie" to school day.  I had Kevin to tie the tie before he left so that all I had to do was adjust it when D put it on.  Here is D ready to go to school:

Hello Arthur Fonzerlli!  He looks to cool here...

Kevin ran inside and say, "I need the camera.  Dominc is going to race Uncle Eric and Aunt Bru to the end of the street and Back!"  Wait, what......?

Dominic loves his Uncle Eric and Aunt Bru.  They are so dear to him (and us of course!)

Here they are racing Dominic's "Rock-it" bike and their Harley to the cul-de-sac and back!

It appears he is in the lead...

And D is the winner!  He tells me he "beated" them....ha!  too cute!

Bye Bye Love and lazy rainy Sunday!

About 3 months before Kevin proposed, he mentioned one day that he wanted to just go look at new cars.  We would spend every weekend together hanging out and doing fun things so this was no different.  Come to find out, he is not just a looker, he's a buyer.  I, on the other hand am more frugal!  I sat with him thru the purchase of his car but did not think much of it, we were just dating.  Fast forward a few months and we are now engaged and sharing financial responsibilty to pay for our own wedding then the beginning of our new future together.  He was a teensy bit quite a bit upside down on his trade in so he ended up with a large amount (in my opinion) to finance monthly.  Oh well, it was what it was and it was ours for the next 5 years!  We had a new home, a new baby with daycare costs and all the other finances two incur.  We kept her for 8 years and it was a good run but it was just time to look for something newer.  Things were starting to cost more and more and then the A/C went out just as "Winter" began and so on.  We came across an opportunity we just could not pass up.  Amazing enough after a promotion they were running, our trade in value and my employee discount, the new car doesn't cost that much more than the old one when we were financing it!  Here is D bored out of his mind at the car lot and yes, he needed a haircut bad!  He was good but buying a car still takes a while no matter what.

We said our goodbye's to the Xterra on Monday night when we went to pick up the new car.
Lots of memories from this car from getting married to having our son to taking our first family vacation!  Bye Bye Love!

It's been a rainy week so I don't have a great picture but here we are arriving home with Daddy's new Tahoe.  My husband works very hard and I am so glad the Lord has blessed us with this new used vehicle.

D went to Grandma's Saturday morning for an over nighter (high five for our much needed evening alone!)
and we picked him up this morning.  It's hard to entertain him with this rainy weather but we are trying.  He and his daddy played with the trains...

And we played with the Lite Brite......
Dominic has been working on the Lite Brite for almost 1 hour - UN-HEARD of.....

I LOVE my new camera and the clarity it has!
Time to watch football!  Go Mark Sanchez, I mean GO JETS!

New Years Eve 2010

We started out the day by heading to the Galleria in Houston.  We knew, as always, we had to get that little boy out of the house which is standard at some point every.single.day.  It's rather exhausting but so is the job of parenting!  Just have to roll with the punches.....

I thought it would be fun for Dominic to see the huge tree on display and well, walk, walk, walk and walk...possibly even run if he needed too.  Great prep for our Disney vacation coming up.  He did not disappoint, he was in full force, all boy, all the time. At one point I told him to run circles around a large pillar and by God he took on the challenge.  He never stops moving.

Our first stop was the Croc store.  We bought him his first pair of little jewelry dew-hickies that you attach to the crocs.  I hesitate to say jewelry and my son in the same sentence but you know what I mean.  He got a Mickey Mouse, Nemo, a school bus and some other something. He changed his mind a hundred times so I am not sure what that 4th one ended up being I just know I paid, as usual!  Here are my twin boys that day:

Dominic showing his Papa K what he got

In front of the huge Christmas tree that I remember when I was a kid!

Back at the homestead after a little down time telling Dominic we needed to rest before the big night, we headed over to the neighbors around 7p.  Everyone brought some Chicken Wings and a side or two and Uncle Eric spent a better part of the evening frying them up.  Dominic wanted to start fireworks pretty early so I was just sure we would be home by 8 or 9, the usual on NYE.

Things starting to get louder....

Real quick let me mention we found this yellow jacket earlier at Gap Kids while at the Galleria for 40% off and about $11, a total steal.....For some reason D wanted to wear it all day from the time we left the store until well....he still loves wearing it every day!

He discovered the "sparkler" this year, thanks to neighbors Jenna and Robert who had left overs from their wedding last March!  perfect.....!

Jenna and Robert also ended up bringing their fire pit over....Great idea, it got REALLY cold out!

Handsome hubs eating the last of some wings....

It's just a crawfish plate, NOT crawfish!  ha!

Shortly before 11pm when this little boy would crawl up into Mama's lap in front of the fire and actually fall asleep with fireworks in the back ground.  That my friends, is heaven.

Happy New Year to all!
